Mike Marshall - Executive Managing Director

Mike Marshall brings more than 25 years of commercial and multi-housing real estate experience to Newmark Knight Frank. Over the past seven years he has completed over 85 transactions valued in excess of $2.4 billion and nearly 20,000 apartment units located throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Mike has more than ten years of experience on the principal side of the business, having directed acquisitions for two multi-family owner/operators, and was the regional director of asset management and dispositions for a major bank, completing over $500 million in transactions.

Drew White - Executive Managing Director

McLean, VA

Drew White started the Newmark Knight Frank Mid-Atlantic Multi-Family practice after 15 years of working at Cushman & Wakefield. While at C&W, he successfully started and grew the DC office over the last 10 years to cover the entire Mid-Atlantic and become dominant in many of its sub-markets. Previously he worked for C&W and The Apartment Group in Atlanta while helping expand it across the entire Southeast. He has sold more than 250 properties in over 18 major markets throughout 10 states in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, for clients ranging from small individual owners to large institutions. With over 18 years of experience in the apartment business, Drew brings extensive industry knowledge and relationships coupled with an unparalleled sales track record.

Ryan Ogden - Senior Managing Director

McLean, VA

Ryan Ogden, senior managing director for Newmark Knight Frank co-founded the Washington D.C. office in 2011 with partners Drew White and Mike Marshall. Since joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Ogden has been involved in over 150 multifamily investment sales transactions valued at nearly $4.6 billion throughout Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. 

Mr. Ogden previously served as a managing partner of The Bozzuto Group, where he worked in various capacities over a 12-year career. During his tenure there, he was involved in structuring debt and joint venture equity for development projects, acquisitions, was active in setting the strategic direction of the firm and was ultimately responsible for the firm’s entire ownership portfolio of apartment communities. He and his team acquired, renovated and sold dozens of properties throughout the Mid-Atlantic region valued at over $1.0 billion. Before that, Mr. Ogden was a commercial real estate lender at Provident Bank of Maryland, where he structured credit facilities for home builders and land developers throughout the region. 

Mr. Ogden holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University.

Wink Ewing - Senior Managing Director

McLean, VA

Wink Ewing joined the Newmark Knight Frank Mid-Atlantic team in 2012 and has 10 years of experience in investment properties. With over $600 million in transactions focused in Virginia, he has cultivated many long-lasting relationships. He was instrumental in forming the Central Virginia Multi-Housing Group at CBRE, where he specialized in multifamily transactions and structuring 1031 exchanges. Wink recently opened Newmark Knight Frank Mid-Atlantic’s office in Richmond and will also cover Hampton Roads, Charlottesville and Southwest VA. He is a licensed broker in the state of Virginia and studied Real Estate Finance and Investment at NYU.

Al Cissel - Executive Managing Director

Norfolk, VA

Al Cissel joins Newmark Knight Frank as executive managing director bringing more than 35 years experience in multifamily brokerage in the Mid-Atlantic region. He will work closely with the Mid-Atlantic team to provide investment sales services to clients throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Cissel was Managing Director of JLL's Mid-Atlantic Multifamily Group based in Bethesda, Maryland where he covered the Mid-Atlantic region from Richmond/Tidewater, Virginia through Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Over the course of the last five years, Mr. Cissel has been involved in over $5 billion in multifamily transactions and in 2013 alone, he led or was involved in $1.3 billion in multifamily sales and finance transactions, including four of the ten largest multifamily investment sales in the Washington, D.C. metro area. He and his team were also responsible for the largest multifamily transaction in the nation in 2011, as well as the largest multifamily transactions in the metros of Baltimore and Philadelphia and the two largest multifamily transactions in the Washington, D.C. metro market, all of which closed that same year.

Nationally, Mr. Cissel was ranked as “Top Broker” by Real Estate Forum and “Hot Broker” by Commercial Property News in 2010. He is a Board Member for the National Multifamily Housing Council and he studied Business & Finance at the University of Maryland, College Park.
